An extensive photo collection of approximately 8,000 pictures is available. A number of gifts, honors and personal items of Bruno Kreisky’s estate also belong to the core collection of the Foundation.

In addition, the Archive regularly acquires files on key Social Democrats. Accordingly after Women’s Affairs Johanna Dohnal left office in 1995, the unpublished material of the former State Secretary for Women’s Issues and the Office of the Federal Minister for Women’s Affairs was transferred to the Bruno Kreisky Archives Foundation, where a seperate Johanna Dohnal Archive was established.

The Cabinet files of Chancellor Fred Sinowatz and Chancellor Franz Vranitzky can be found at the Bruno Kreisky Archives Foundation as well. Part of this collection is located at the Foundation and part in the Austrian State Archives. The files are overseen jointly with the Austrian State Archives and fall under the 1 January 2000 Austrian Archives Law’s 30-year closure rule. Therefore, they are not open to the public.

In addition, the Bruno Kreisky Archives Foundation holds an extensive collection of photos and posters related to Austrian history, particularly to social democracy, from the beginning of the 20th century until today.
